Bellingham Teen Hit and Killed by Vehicle on I-5

Bellingham, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Southbound I-5 near milepost 256 around 12:26 a.m. on March 19th, 2019.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 17-year old Butch Mullins of Bellingham was walking Southbound I-5 near Milepost 256 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle in lane two of interstate 5.  The vehicle didn’t stop and continued Southbound.

Troopers say Mullins died at the scene from his injuries and they are actively seeking information on the identity of the driver who fled the scene.
