Burlington Man Killed By Hit and Run Driver


Burlington, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to reports of a disabled 2006 Kia Sorento  on the Northbound I-5 on Ramp from George Hopper around 7:00 p.m. on November 22nd, 2017.

Upon arrival, Trooper Wilcox was notified by a passenger in the disabled vehicle that the driver of the vehicle had been struck by an unknown passing vehicle.

Trooper Wilcox immediately started life saving efforts on the man and performed CPR until Burlington Fire and EMS crews arrived and took over. Unfortunately the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin was notified by Officers from the Burlington Police Department according to the press memo.

Troopers Identified the deceased man as 44-year old Porfirio Reyes-Solano of Burlington. 

The identity of the hit and run driver is unknown and Troopers are attempting to locate surveillance video that might help identify the type of vehicle that struck and killed Mr. Reyes-Solano.

The cause of the crash and possible charges are both under investigation.
