Sunday, November 10th at 4 pm, Brett Benton will bring his Country/Delta Blues roots to Skagit County. Delta blues originated in Mississippi in the early 20th century and was popularized by artists such as Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, R.L. Burnside and Lead Belly.
This will be a solo show where Brett will perform popular covers, as well as his own original songs. This is a great opportunity to be able to hear a style of music that’s not often performed anymore, but played a pivotal role in the shaping of modern blues/rock music.
As well as being a fantastic musician, Brett is also well versed in the history of this style of music and is always happy to answer questions and drop some knowledge about these early American musicians, their instruments and how the style of music came about.
This show is all ages and there is no cover charge. Come celebrate an early Veterans Day by taking part in one of the true original styles of American music.
