Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a four vehicle crash on State Route 9 near 60th Street Northeast around 3:05 p.m. on July 2nd, 2019.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 47-year old Adam Mika of Lake Stevens was traveling Southbound on State Route 9 in a white 2018 Nissan NC2500 Van when he failed to stop for traffic that had stopped ahead of him.
Troopers say Mika’s Van slammed into the back of a silver 1999 Mazda MX5 that had stopped to turn Eastbound onto 60th Street NE. The Mazda was being driven by 36-year old Micheal Moore of Arlington. Moore’s vehicle was then pushed into oncoming traffic where it was struck head on by a Maroon 2009 Acura MDX being driven by 54-year old Cheryl Moen of Lake Stevens. The Acura then collided with a white 2019 Subaru Accent that was traveling Westbound on 60th Street NE at State Route 9. The Subaru was being driven by 48-year old Liza Watkins of Lake Stevens.
The Silver Mazda was totaled and impounded to R and R Star Towing. Michael Moore was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Adam Mika was not injured and the Nissan NC2500 Van was damaged and towed by R and R Star Towing.
The Maroon Acura was totaled and impounded by Dick’s Towing. Cheryl Moen was injured and transported to Providence Hospital.
Liza Watkins was not injured and her Subaru Accent was damaged and driven from the scene.
Two passenger in the Acura, 54-year old Anthony Lee of Lake Stevens and a 15-year old Juvenile were both injured and transported to Providence Hospital for treatment.
Three Juveniles in the Subaru were not injured.
The cause of the crash is listed as “Speeds too fast for Conditions.” Possible charges are pending against the causing driver.
