Island County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatality crash with multiple injuries on State Route 20 at East Frostad Road, two miles North of Oak Harbor around 2:37 p.m. on June 29th, 2019.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 57-year old Cindy Wilson of Oak Harbor is suspected of traveling Westbound on Frostad Road while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, in a black 2009 Jeep Wrangler SUV when she failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a black 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV being driven Southbound on State Route 20 by 53-year old Reed Hall of Oak Harbor. Both Drivers were injured and transported to local hospitals for treatment.
A passenger in Wilson’s vehicle, 25-year old Jeffery Parson of Oak Harbor was injured and transported to Island Hospital in Anacortes. A second passenger, 50-year old Steven Parson of Oak Harbor was pronounced dead in the crash.
Two passengers in Halls’ Vehicle, 16-year old Tucker Hall and 50-year old Ruby Hall, both of Oak Harbor were injured in the crash and transported to Whidbey General Hospital for treatment.
The causing driver, Cindy Wilson, was released from Island Hospital in Anacortes and booked into the Island County Jail for two counts of Vehicular Assault and one Count of Vehicular Homicide. Troopers say drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
