Mount Vernon, WA – Mount Vernon Parks and Enrichment Services is pleased to announce that Little Mountain Park will be undergoing a major Capital Improvement Project starting late June of this year. This project includes creation of a 50 stall parking lot and access road, along with new landscaping. This project has been listed as a Capital Improvement Project for the City of Mount Vernon since 2002, and became a priority project in 2017.

The construction time frame of this project is late June 2019 through October 2019. During this time there will be areas of the park access road and trails that will be temporarily closed to ensure the safety of our park users. This will include a temporary trail closure of the HOP Connector Trail from the Little Mountain Road access point to the intersection of the Flow Trail. The Little Mountain Park Road will remain open throughout the construction process, with the exception of a temporary 1 to 2 day closure for asphalt paving.

During this closure the Little Mountain Park Road will be shut down to all vehicle traffic except for communication and emergency personnel. All other Park entry points will remain open. A public announcement will be made to let park users know when the asphalt paving time frame has been established.

We appreciate your patience as we work to make these improvements to Little Mountain Park.
