Camano Island Child suffers serious injuries from dog bites




Update of Media Release dated May 16, 2019

As of 1:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2019, the Island County Sheriff’s Office has learned that the child injured in this event has been treated and is recuperating at home.

The families involved in this are cooperating in all respects at this point and they request that their privacy be respected as they work through this traumatic event.

We would like to reiterate that involved dog has been contained and there is currently no danger to the public.
We will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Media Release May 16, 2019:

On Thursday May 16, 2019, at approximately 3:30 pm, a 4 year old was playing with another child on Lost Forest Lane on Camano Island when he was bitten several times by a 14 month old wolf-hybrid. The child was transported to Providence Hospital with serious injuries to his head, neck, hip, groin, and buttocks.

The animal is in the custody of Animal Control.
