Considering its been colder in the Midwest than most years, everyone was in great anticipation of what Pennsylvania’s famed groundhog had to say this morning, and Punxsutawney Phil delivered. Phil failed to see his shadow and predicts an early spring is on its way.
Phil’s annual prediction draws thousands of people to the town of Punxsutawney, 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, every year. Everyone in attendance bundled up this morning to chant Phil’s name so he would emerge from his hole in a tree stump.
Whether or not our winter persists another six weeks, thank you Phil for giving us some hope.
