Plants of the Forest Floor
Learn about the native plants that can be found on the floor of the old-growth forest at Rockport State Park. Gabe Garms of the Raven’s Roots Naturalist School will help us take a close (sometimes very close) look at the plants that are right under our feet, and share with us some of their medicinal and practical uses, as well as how they contribute to the complex ecosystem of the forest. There will be a short talk at our Discovery Center followed by a .5 mile walk. This is a walk where we will be encouraged to slow down and observe keenly.
