Three Injured in Crash on Jones Road in Island County

Crash Investigation

Island County, WA- The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash in the 4900 block of Jones Road in Island County around 7:51 p.m. on December 18th, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 37-year old William Holtz of Bellingham was traveling Northbound on Jones Road in a green 2000 Ford Ranger pickup when he failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway and his vehicle left the roadway and rolled before coming to rest on it’s wheels.

Troopers say Holtz and two passengers in the vehicle, 27-year old Christopher McKinney of Seattle and 42-year old Gregory Holtz of Oak Harbor were not wearing seat belts and all three were injured and transported to Whidbey General Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation but Troopers believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Charges are pending against the driver.

The vehicle was impounded to the Washington State Patrol bullpen for safekeeping by A1 Towing.
