Mount Vernon Man Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in Burlington

Burlington, WA –  The Washington State Patrol responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on State Route 20 near  North Anacortes Street in Burlington around 6:08 p.m. on November 23rd, 2018. 

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol,  24-year old James Fleury of Burlington was traveling Eastbound On State Route 20 in a green 2001 Acura Integra when he struck a pedestrian that was walking Westbound in the Eastbound lane of State Route 20.   Troopers say the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident. Mr. Fleury was not injured in the incident. 

According to Troopers, the pedestrian identified as 52-year old Todd Mitchell Taylor of Mount Vernon was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. In an Updated press release, Troopers say Mr. Taylor passed away from his injuries at 9:33 p.m.  on December 5th, 2018. 

The cause of the crash is listed as Pedestrian in Roadway. No charges are expected in the incident.
