Two Injured in Suspected DUI Crash North of Darrington


Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash on State Route 530 near milepost 53 around 2:15 a.m. on November 22nd, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 21-year old Austin Edwards of Darrington was traveling Eastbound on State Route 530 in a black 2013 Jeep Wrangler when his vehicle drifted off the road to the right. Troopers say he overcorrected, struck some trees and came to rest on the left shoulder of the roadway.  EDWARDS was injured in the crash and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for Treatment.

A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year old Natasha Wilson of Darrington was also injured and transported to Cascade Hospital for Treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and impounded to the Washington State Patrol District 7 bullpen.

Troopers say the cause of the crash was driving under the influence and charges of vehicular assault are pending against the driver.
