Island County, WA- The Washington State Patrol responded to a two vehicle crash on North Camano Drive at Utsalady Road around 12:13 p.m. on November 6th, 2018.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 83-year old Johann Stalf of Camano Island was traveling Southbound on Utsalady Road in a silver 2006 Mercedes-Benz. Stalf failed to yield At the intersection of North Camano Drive and pulled out in front of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup that was being driven Westbound on North Camano Drive by 52-year old Gary Lund of Stanwood. The truck collided with the driver’s side of the Mercedes-Benz, causing the car to rollover into a fence.
Mr. Stalf was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Troopers say he passed away as a result of his injuries on the morning of November 9th, 2018.
Mr. Lund was not injured in the crash.
Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not involved in the crash. The cause of the crash is listed as Failure to Yield.
Both Vehicles were totaled and impounded by Dick’s Towing.
