Skagit County, WA- Skagit Animals in Need (SAIN) is an all-volunteer registered nonprofit organization in Skagit County. SAIN’s mission is to support animal control and law enforcement in preventing animal cruelty through outreach, education, and advocacy programs, and by facilitating the fostering, rehabilitation, and rehoming of animals in need. SAIN is currently recruiting for the following volunteer positions:
Animal Health Coordinator: (Volunteer)
This volunteer position is responsible for ensuring the animals placed in SAIN’s care receive the appropriate healthcare for their condition throughout their time in our program. The person in this position will work closely with approved veterinarian clinics, foster homes and volunteers on a regular basis. This person will also be responsible for providing or scheduling routine care such as deworming and vaccinations. Knowledge of appropriate equine and other livestock care is required. This is a governing board position, so additional time will be required to attend monthly board meetings and to attend at least one committee meeting per month. This is a mission critical position and will require interaction with the animals in SAIN’s care and with volunteers and foster homes. The current Animal Health Coordinator is available to provide training and assistance until approximately June 2019. It should be noted that this volunteer position is on call 24/7 for emergency calls. Depending on the number of animals in SAIN’s care, the average amount of time spent in this role is estimated to be between 12-16 hours per month.
Social Media Lead: (Volunteer)
This volunteer position will assist the Marketing, Media and Web Coordinator in updating SAIN’s social media sites. Knowledge and experience with social media such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. is required. This position is a member of the Marketing and Media Committee so will be required to attend at least one monthly meeting. The time commitment for this position will vary from 5-10 hours per month.
Events Lead: (Volunteer)
This volunteer position will work closely with the Fundraising and Events (FE) Committee so will be required to attend at least one monthly meeting. The person in this position will ensure board-approved events have adequate volunteer coverage and will be responsible for researching and developing additional events to promote SAIN and educate the public as per our mission. The person in this position may be requested to provide a written analysis for any suggested event to ensure the benefit of the event justifies the utilization of SAIN’s resources and aligns with SAIN’s mission. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring all outreach/event documents and materials are up to date and ready for events. The current Events Coordinator will be available to train and assist to ensure a successful hand-off of responsibilities. The time commitment for this position is estimated at 5-10 hours per month.
