Burlington Police Arrest Mount Vernon Man For Rape of Child

Burlington, WA- The Burlington Police Department has arrested a 30-year old Mount Vernon man for allegedly sexually assaulting an 8-year old boy in his home over the course of several years.

According to a probable cause affidavit of arrest, obtained by SkagitBreaking.com through a public disclosure request, the now 30-year old man was 18-years old  at the time of the first sexual assault and the boy was only  8-years old.

The man is accused of sexually assaulting the boy after the boy’s family let his family move into their home when they were homeless and he babysit the boy.

Over the course of several years, the man is alleged to have sexually assaulted the boy at various locations throughout Skagit County.

The suspect refused to speak to investigators and instead asked them what the statue of limitation was for such a crime.

On October 12th, 2018, the suspect was booked into the Skagit County Community Justice Center for Investigation of Rape of a Child 1st. He is currently being held on $100,000 bail.

 

Skagit Breaking does not name the suspects in Sex Crimes until convicted in a court of law, to protect the identity of the victims.
