Mount Vernon, WA – On October 6th, 2018 around 9:48 a.m. Mount Vernon Officers were dispatched to a suicide attempt. The victim told Officers that her boyfriend of 1.5 years, wanted to kill himself and had allegedly sexually assaulted her.
According to a probable cause affidavit of arrest obtained by SkagitBreaking.com through a public disclosure request, investigators learned that the male had been arguing with the victim near Draper Valley Farm in Mount Vernon before he pinned her down and allegedly raped her in his car.
The Victim told Detectives that the male had a machete and gun in his vehicle and the male had told the victim something to the effect that he “had three lives and this was his last life.”
The female victim was able to get out of the car and made contact with Officers after the incident through the crisis center. Detectives were able to obtain evidence of a possible sexual assault.
Around 10:36 p.m. Officers made contact with the male and took him into custody without incident. The male confirmed to Officers that he had an argument with the female but denied raping her. He told Detectives that the female had exited the vehicle and he went to Stanwood, returning to Mount Vernon later in the evening where he was contacted by Officers.
The male was booked into the Skagit County Community Justice Center on Suspicion of Rape 1st Degree DVPA, Unlawful Imprisonment DVPA, and Rape 2nd DVPA. He is currently being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
