Okanogan County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash around 6:46 p.m. on August 7th, 2018. The crash occurred on Westbound State Route 20 near milepost 162, 16-miles West of Mazama.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 21-year old Tatiana Hoare of Sedro-Woolley was traveling Westbound State Route 20 on a Green Kawasaki EX300 motorcycle when she failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, crossed the center line, and struck an Eastbound 2010 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup in the Eastbound Lanes. HOARE was injured in the crash and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. The driver of the truck, 33-year old Joseph Dietz of Winthrop was not injured in the crash.
The motorcycle was totaled and impounded to Classic Towing for Safe Keeping. The pickup was driven from the scene.
Troopers Say HOARE was wearing a USDOT compliant Helmet, had a valid motorcycle endorsement and drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
The cause of the crash is listed as Speed too Fast.” No charges are expected in the case.
