Anacortes Man Identified as Victim of Deadly Crash

Whatcom County, WA– The Washington State Patrol has identified the passenger who died in a crash in the 4400 block of Lummi Shore Drive around 5:30 a.m. on June 6th, 2018 as 38-year old Billy Robbins of Anacortes, WA. 

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 29-year old Logan Carmona of Blaine was traveling Westbound on Lummi Shore drive approaching Haxton Way  in a red 1997 Honda Civic  when he failed to negotiate a curve and his vehicle left the roadway to the right where it rolled into a slough, landing on its top,  fully submerged in water.

Billy Robbins was wearing a seat belt and died as a result of the crash.  The driver, Logan Carmona was not wearing a seat belt and was  injured and transported to St. Josephs Hospital in Bellingham before being charged with Vehicular Homicide.

Troopers say Drugs or Alcohol were a factor in the crash. The vehicle was impounded to the Washington State Patrol bullpen in Burlington for safe keeping.

Next of Kin was notified by the Whatcom County Medical Examiners Office.
