Uber Eats Food Delivery Service Launches in Skagit County

Skagit County, WA – On May 1st, 2018, food delivery through the Uber Eats App became available in most areas of  Mount Vernon, Burlington and Sedro-Woolley in Skagit County. This means Skagit County residents and visitors can now download the free Uber Eats app and login and order some of their favorite foods from participating local restaurants. The food will then be delivered right to them by a Uber Eats delivery driver.

“We’re partnering with some great area restaurants, so customers can now get the food they love quickly and conveniently,” said Pat Winter, Uber Eats General Manager for the Pacific Northwest. “Uber Eats is for anyone who wants an easy and reliable way to get their food-no matter what they’re doing or where they are.”

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, you just need to download the free Uber EATS app (it’s different from the regular Uber app), available for both iOS and Android. You can also visit the Uber Eats website from your laptop or desktop computer.

Skagit County restaurants that are currently listed as participating in Uber EATS include, Skagit River Brewery, Johnny Carino’s, Little Caesars Pizza, Denny’s, Shari’s, Craving Bakery & Cafe and Sushi by Chin.

The prices of menu items are set by the restaurants and Uber will add a booking fee of $4.99. The  company says you will always see prices upfront so you know exactly what you’ll be paying before you order.

The Uber Eats app is now available in more than 220 cities in 32 countries, and the number of customers using the app is growing rapidly. Last month, analytics platform Second Measure showed that Uber Eats is the fastest-growing meal delivery application in the United States.

Many restaurants have indicated that partnering with Uber Eats has led to an uptick in revenue by giving them access to new customers and letting existing customers access them in a new way.

Uber Eats facilitates food delivery though an app separate from Uber’s ride share app because requesting a ride and ordering a meal are two different experiences. The similarity, however, is that Uber makes both easy, safe and reliable. The same technology company that brought people access to rides at the touch of a button is now doing the same for food delivery. A YouTube  video released by Uber Eats last year provides an overview of how easy the app is to use.
