Death Investigation at Washington Park

First Responders work to recover body from Water at Washington Park

Anacortes, WA – The Anacortes Police Department responded to the 6300 block of Sunset avenue at 1:04 p.m. on March 29th, 2018 for a death investigation at Washington Park.

According to a press release by the Anacortes Police Department, APD Officers and Skagit County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit Officers recovered  the body of an adult male from the water at the West end of the park.

The Loop Road at Washington Park was closed in order to recover evidence related to the incident. Several Key Evidentiary items related to the incident were recovered by Officers and Detectives during daylight hours and Loop Road was reopened around 8:00 p.m.

No Foul play is suspected and there is no perceived threat to the public, according to the Anacortes Police Department.

The Coroners Office will release the manner and cause of death for the male and his identity once next of kin has been formally notified.
