The Skagit Valley College has recently received two donations for the Diesel Power technology program. Both a 2010 Kenworth semi truck from PACCAR and a 2011 semi truck from Freightliner have been given to support the Skagit Valley College students involved in the program.

With these donations, students will have access to the latest technology that will aid them in the hands-on training that they need. The new Freightliner is equipped with a fully automated transmission that has become rapidly more popular in the industry.

The truck donated by PACCAR uses nearly zero emissions and includes a computer attached to the engine, which allows instructors to observe their student’s work.

These two donations put the program in the most recent category of emission controls that use diesel exhaust fluid.
