The Sedro-Woolley Police Department (SWPD) has announced that they have scheduled a free Citizen Workshop regarding Active Threat/Active Shooter situations.
On Thursday, March 1st from 6PM-8PM, the Sedro-Woolley Police Department will present a classroom-based training on the Citizen Response to Active Threat/Active Shooter. The workshop will occur at the Sedro-Woolley Municipal Court Room at 325 Metcalf Street. Attendees should enter through the south doors. The workshop will begin at 6PM, but the doors will open at 5:30PM.
This training will give citizens the opportunity to gain knowledge and information that may keep themselves and others around them alive if they ever find themselves in an Active Violence or Active Shooter situation. They will discuss what a citizen should do if they are caught in the area of an active threat/active shooter situation, and what citizens can expect from first responders during these types of situations.
Officers will be available after the training for a Q&A, and also for any one-on-one conversations. The SWPD did note that they do appreciate the gravity of the current political atmosphere, however they encourage citizens to please note that this class is not intended to be a political forum, but rather a public safety course.
Seating will be limited. The Sedro-Woolley Police Department asks that you reserve your seat by calling 360-855-0111. Or you can also email your request to: firstname.lastname@example.org. They hope to be able to offer this class again, depending on the interest taken for the March 1st class.
