Two Injured After Motor Vehicle Collision on Camano Island

Camano Island, WA- On December 28, 2017 at about 8:55AM, Troopers from the Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded to a two-car motor vehicle collision. The collision occurred on State Route 532 near Smith Road.

The press memo issued by WSP indicated that Kathleen McCurdy, 74, of Camano Island was eastbound on SR532 and was waiting to make a left turn into a business. As she made the turn, she struck the oncoming westbound vehicle, driven by Jesus Diaz Isidro, 36, of Wenatchee. Both Kathleen and Jesus were injured in the collision. They were transported to Skagit Valley Hospital for further treatment.

Both of their vehicles were totaled and were impounded to Dick’s Towing.

The cause of the collision list listed as “Failure to yield right of way” and charges are still under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
