Sedro-Woolley Getting Upgraded Pedestrian Crossings and New Pavement

Road Work Ahead

Sedro-Woolley, WA – The Washington State Department of Transportation has contractor crews from Lakeside Industries, Inc who are getting ready to repave a 2-mile stretch of State Route 20 between Collins Road near PeaceHealth United General Hospital and the State Route 9 intersection in Sedro-Woolley near Food Pavilion.

According to a press release from the Department of Transportation, the work will preserve State Route 20 and improve the walking, cycling and driving experience along this section of State Route 20.

Construction Crews  started upgrading ramps today, to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project will create smoother transitions between the sidewalk and road for pedestrians.

Pedestrian Improvements will be made at the State Route 20 intersections with Sterling Road, Hodgins Street/Rhodes Road, Trail Road/West State Street and State Route 9.

The majority of this work will happen overnight starting around  7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6th and wrapping up at 5 a.m. on Friday. Overnight Travelers should plan for 30-minute traffic delays through the area.
