Skeletal Remains Found Near Kayak Point Identified as Missing Person

Snohomish County, Washington- The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the identification and examination of the skeletal remains that were discovered in the woods near Kayak Point (140th Street NW and Marine Drive) on January 20, 2016.

Shari Ireton, the Director of Communications for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said the man was  28-years old when he went missing from Portland, Oregon in 1988.

The man was  identified as Roy T. Blair and has been a missing person for 28 years.   

The cause and manner of death are undetermined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner but detectives do not have evidence that he was the victim of homicide.

Detectives found a wallet on his persons and were able to confirm his identity through dental records and contact his family.
