Sedro Woolley-  A local community member noticed a possible pipe bomb on the railroad tracks in Sedro Woolley while driving along Sterling Road.

We received an email from the person who called in a pipe bomb about 3PM on Thursday, February 11th. They noticed it early in the morning while driving over the tracks, but weren’t sure what it was at first. The object was lodged between the metal and the wood portions of the tracks.

After they drove past it in the afternoon, it had then been dislodged and was in the road. It looked, as they described, “Straight out of a television show pipe bomb.”

The description they gave dispatch was: Foot and a half long pipe with electrical tape closing both ends.

Not too long after calling 911, officers closed Sterling Road and the tracks. The reporting person said that the Bomb Squad had been called in.
