Mount Vernon, WA- The Mount Vernon Police Department in conjunction with Community Action of Skagit County have worked together for the past several years to collect thousands of coats and jackets for families in Skagit County that need assistance. This year is no different.
The 2018 Annual Coat Drive Officially begins on October 22nd and runs through December 15th, 2018. This year’s goal is to collect 1,000 new and gently used winter coats and jackets for all ages and sizes.
Collection bins will be limited this year to the Mount Vernon Police Department, Skagit Valley Hospital and Community Action of Skagit County.
The Mount Vernon Police Department will focus on monetary donations this year to better meet the specific needs of the community.
During the late winter and early spring months, all donated coats will be distributed by Community Action to our families and residents who need them the most. Community Action uses donated funds to purchase coats to meet specific needs of individual families. Your donations and dollars stay in the Valley and go straight to the needs of local families!
