Mount Vernon, WA – Mount Vernon Police Officers have arrested a 43-year Old Mount Vernon man for allegedly raping his 15-year old biological daughter repeatedly over a five month period starting in 2017.
According to probable cause affidavits of arrest obtained by SkagitBreaking.com through a public disclosure request, Mount Vernon Police Officers performed a welfare check on the teen after receiving a tip. During the contact with the teen, the teen disclosed to Officers the sexual abuse.
After a thorough investigation and taped interview of the man by detectives, the man claimed it was possible the sexual activity between him and his daughter happened because “he sometimes sleeps very hard and it could be possible the sexual activities the teen described happened without him knowing while he was sleeping.”
The man is currently being held in the Skagit County Community Justice Center on $250,000 bond for suspicion of 3rd Degree Rape of a Child, 5 counts of Incest 1st Degree, and 5 counts of Rape 2nd degree.
