Woman’s Body Found In Lake Ki

Snohomish County, WA – The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team responded with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and local Fire Departments to reports of a body found floating in Lake Ki around 9:30 a.m. on September 2nd, 2018.

According to a press release from Monte Beaton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the body was found by a kayaker who was on the lake. Beaton wrote in his release, “The body is that of a female and is believed to be a missing swimmer reported in late July of this year.”    46-year old Anneliese Grunerud was reported missing on Lake Ki in late July of 2018.

Snohomish County Search and Rescue Marine Units conducted a search of Lake Ki earlier in the year after Anneliese Grunerud was reported missing. She was last seen floating on an inflatable tube around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25. Her floatation device and personal belongings were previously located.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will officially identity the remains and  release the cause and manner of death once their investigation is completed.
