Four Students from Mount Vernon High School Compete at the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference

Mount Vernon, WA – Four students from Mount Vernon High School have recently returned from a week (June 26-July 1) in Baltimore, Maryland, where they competed at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference.

Over 10,000 students from across the nation and various other countries gathered to compete against the top students from their respective areas. Below are the four students from Mount Vernon High School, and the events that they each competed in.

  • Renad Alsilimy – Introduction to Business Presentation
  • Yuva Belarbia – Introduction to Information Technology
  • Matthew Jurenka – Impromptu Speaking
  • Grayson Parker – Business Ethics

Grayson Parker (pictured below) placed second in the nation for Business Ethics with his presentation about Volkswagen’s unethical actions in regard to their defeat devices.

Congratulations to these students. They put an incredible amount of work in to prepare for this National Conference! We are pleased to know that they are our future business leaders.
