Sedro Woolley, WA – According to information released by the Sedro Woolley Police Department (SWPD), their officers assisted the Washington State Patrol (WSP) in attempting to stop a vehicle in the east Mount Vernon/Clear Lake Area. A Sedro Woolley Officer used spike strips to deflate the driver’s side tires on the suspect vehicle. The driver and passenger both fled on foot after the vehicle became inoperable.

The Washington State Patrol Trooper, SWPD Officers, and Deputies from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) set up containment in the area. Officers used a tracking K9 and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle “Drone”) from the SCSO to search for and locate the subject hiding on the riverbank. The female passenger was also located, and had been hiding under a camp trailer in the area. Both subjects were found to have warrants for the arrest and will face additional charges.

The Sedro Woolley Police Department also extended their appreciation to citizens in the area of South Skagit Highway. These citizens cooperated well with officers while they searched for these two suspects.
