Island County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Parks Searching for Suspect in Voyeurism Incident

According to a press release from the Island County Sheriff’s Office, they are investigating an act of voyeurism that occurred on May 27, 2018. Washington State Parks is investigating the incident as well, and asked the Sheriff’s Office to share this information.

On Sunday, May 27, 2018 at about 4:15PM, a male was discovered in the women’s side of the Cabin Area restroom at Cama Beach State Park on Camano Island. The male subject was masturbating as he watched two young girls who were showering. After being confronted, he fled from the area. During his escape, his shirt and hoodie were ripped off of him.

A limited description of the subject is available:

  • White male with short light-colored hair, possibly reddish in color. He was wearing a gray hoodie and black shorts.
  • Possibly in his early 20’s.
  • Described as 20-30 pounds overweight.
  • Skin from his waist up was very pale and he had no hair on his chest.
  • Witnesses described the suspect as possibly “mentally slow.”
  • He fled the area in a dark gray passenger car.
  • The driver of the fleeing vehicle was described as big, 50-60 years old, wearing a dark hat, and had salt and pepper hair.
