Kittitas County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on Eastbound I-90 near Milepost 81.5, three miles West of Cle Elum around 11:03 p.m. on June 10th, 2018.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, at 11:03 p.m. a retired State Trooper called in an erratically driven brown 2000 Toyota Camry.
The retired Troopers told dispatchers the vehicle was traveling Eastbound I-90 in lane one of two. Before the vehicle could be stopped by Active Troopers, the driver veered to the left, entered the median and over corrected to the Right. Troopers say the vehicle rolled and the driver, later identified as 28-year old Brittney King of Monroe, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her vehicle came to rest blocking lane two of Eastbound I-90. A second vehicle, a red 2013 Toyota Prius was traveling Eastbound I-90 in lane two of two when it struck the Camry and came to rest on the right Shoulder. The driver, 59-year old Randolph Bolong and passenger 58-year old Heidi Bolong, both of Yakima were not injured in the secondary crash.
Troopers say KING was not wearing a seat belt and they believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. Next of Kin was notified by Officers from the Monroe Police Department.
The vehicles were both impounded by Cle Elum Towing for safe keeping.
