Two Anacortes Men Injured In Rollover Accident

Anacortes, WA – According to a press memo released by the Washington State Patrol (WSP), two men were injured in a rollover accident that occurred at about 10:13PM on Sunday, March 25, 2018.

The single vehicle involved, a 2001 Lexus IS, was traveling southbound at Havekost Road and “A” Avenue in Anacortes. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver, Daniel R. Engan, 27, of Anacortes, was injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The passenger, Michael D. Oconnell, 26, of Anacortes, was also injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. Their current condition is not known at this time.

The Washington State Patrol reports that drugs or alcohol were involved in this accident.

The cause of the accident is listed as “Driving under the influence”. Vehicular assault charges are currently pending.
