Crash Investigation

Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash on Cape Horn Road just East of Lusk Road around 5:08 p.m. on March 12th, 2018.

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 35-year old Rebecca Brown of Concrete was traveling Eastbound on Cape Horn Road in front of Rasar State Park in a silver 2007 Toyota Yaris when  her vehicle drifted to the right and left the roadway.

Troopers say her vehicle then veered left, rotating counter-clockwise and the front right corner of her vehicle struck a tree before coming to rest on the North Shoulder of the road. The driver was extricated from the vehicle by a passerby as the vehicle caught fire.

Rebecca Brown was injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The vehicle was impounded for safe keeping by Carl’s Towing.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
