Snohomish County – According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, there was a injury Hit and Run Collision on March 3, 2018 at approximately 12:37 PM.
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) received reports of an injury Hit and Run Collision on State Route 9 at State Route 96 (Lowell Larimar Road). WSP Troopers arrived on scene and observed a tan Toyota Camry in the eastbound ditch, facing westbound, after having struck a tree. The driver of the Camry, 21-year-old Michael Lux of Lynnwood, was transported Providence Hospital in Everett with serious injuries.
According to witnesses, the Camry was passing a silver passenger vehicle. Both involved vehicles were traveling westbound. As the Camry was passing the the silver vehicle, the vehicles collided, causing the Camry to veer off the roadway and strike a tree. The silver vehicle fled the scene in the westbound direction.
During the on-scene investigation, troopers were able to collect a silver side mirror that is believed to be from the left side of a Mazda 3 passenger vehicle. It is assumed that the Mazda would have also sustained driver’s side damage.
The Washington State Patrol would like to remind people that if they’re involved in a collision, they are required to stay on scene and check for injuries of each person involved. If there is anyone seriously injured, it is unlawful to leave the scene before law enforcement arrives.
