Arlington, WA – An Arlington Police Officer on routine patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of a business that had already closed for the evening in the 3100 block of Smokey Point Drive in Arlington on February 27th, 2018.
According to a news release from the Arlington Police Department, three individuals were in the vehicle and Officers made contact with the individuals. One of the subjects, a 39-year old Arlington man had a large amount of money and a baggy visible in his pants pocket. During the Officer’s investigation, the Officer asked the man if he would show him what was in the baggy. The man pulled out and displayed a Ziploc baggy containing a large quantity of what appeared to be methamphetamine.
The man was arrested on possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Snohomish County Jail. The other two individuals were interviewed and released.
The suspect had over $2300 in cash in his possession at the time of his arrest. The money was seized for forfeiture as proceeds from illegal drug sales. The methamphetamine was weighed at the Arlington Police Station and found to weigh 58 grams. The street value of the methamphetamine was estimated at $1,800.
Arlington Police also seized the vehicle for a search warrant to continue their investigation in the case and additional charges may be filed.
