Everett Firefighters Respond to Fatal House Fire

Everett, WA – According to a press release from the Everett Fire Department, firefighters responded to the 2500 Block of Lombard Avenue on Wednesday evening (02/28/18) at about 10:05 PM for a reported structure fire. The first units to arrive at the scene found a small, detached dwelling with heavy fire conditions.  Firefighters were able to gain control of the flames by about 10:17 PM.

Fire crews searched the home and found one victim deceased in the living room area, where most of the fire had been located. Investigators will continue to look into the cause of the fire.  Everett Police also responded to the scene and are handling the death investigation.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has transported the victim to their office, and will be verifying the identity of the victim.

The Red Cross responded to support the family members who had arrived on scene. An update will be released after the investigation is complete and the origin and cause of the fire become available.
