Mount Vernon Man Injured in Crash on I-5

Mount Vernon, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash on Southbound I-5 at Blackburn Road around 4:37 p.m. on February 1st, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 23-year old Owen Feingold of Mount Vernon  was traveling Southbound on I-5 near milepost 225 in a black 2008 Ford Focus when his vehicle left the roadway to the right where he  struck a tree head-on.

Firefighters and medics used the “jaws of life” to extricate Mr. Feingold from his mangled vehicle and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and possible charges are pending. The vehicle was totaled and impounded for safe keeping by Budget Towing.

Troopers say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
