Okanogan County, WA – The US Navy Air Station Whidbey Island has issued an apology after aviators flying an EA-18G Growler assigned to the Electronic Attack Squadron 130, known as the “Zappers” used their aircrafts condensed air trail to draw an obscene image of a penis in the sky over Okanogan County in Washington State.
The Navy said Friday is has grounded the aircrew involved over “wholly unacceptable” behavior. “The Navy apologizes to anyone who was offended by this unacceptable action.” according to a statement from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. “The Officers and Sailors of the United States Navy are professionals, held to the highest standards, while serving our nation with pride around the world. The actions of this aircrew were wholly unacceptable and anti-ethical to Navy core values. We have grounded the aircrew and are conducting a thorough investigation and we will hold those responsible accountable for their actions. The Navy apologizes for this irresponsible and immature act.”
