Fishermen Find Man’s Body in Stillaguamish River

Arlington, WA– The body of an unidentified male was  recovered from the Stillaguamish River on the evening of November 1st, 2017 according to a press release from Shari Ireton, Director of Communications for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Ireton said, two fisherman called 9-1-1 around 5:30 p.m. and reported they had found a body in the water near 59th Avenue NE and Dike Avenue.

The fishermen waited with the body until local fire crews and members of the Washington State Fish and Wildlife were able to retrieve the body.

Detectives from the Snohomish County Major Crimes Unit will conduct a death investigation to determine if the man’s death is suspicious in nature.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death and release the identity of the male once he is identified and next of kin has been notified.

The Investigation is ongoing.
