ICE Arrests Over 450 on Federal Immigration Charges

Seattle, WA – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Fugitive Operations Teams arrested 498 individuals from 42 Countries including 33 in the Seattle area  for Federal Immigration violations  during a four-day operation that ended on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017.

According to a press release, the operation targeted individuals who have violated U.S. immigration laws, prioritizing aliens with criminal convictions, pending criminal charges, known gang members and affiliates, immigration fugitives, and those who re-entered the U.S. after deportation.  The press memo says individuals with active DACA were not targeted for arrest.

Operation Safe City arrests took place in Baltimore, Cook County, Illinois, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Santa Clara County, California, Washington D.C., Massachusetts and Seattle.

Of the 498 individuals arrested, 33 of them were arrested in the Seattle area.
