La Conner, WA – The Swinomish Police Department arrested a 45-year old male after a 16-year old boy who was in custody at the Skagit County Juvenile Detention Center reported to a Detention Officer that he had been sexually assaulted by a male in La Conner.
According to court documents obtained through a public disclosure request, a police investigation revealed that on June 23rd, 2017 a 16-year old male was highly intoxicated and walking down First Street on the Swinomish Indian Reservation. The teen told Detectives that the next thing he remembers is waking up in a tent and a male, who was known to him, was sexually assaulting him. The boy said once he realized what was happening he protested. The teen then told Officers he got up, got dressed and left. The teen told Detectives that he then walked to the area of the basketball court and he later woke up in the grass.
The 45-year old male admitted to Officers that he communicated with the teen in a sexual manner and admitted to sexually assaulting the teen but denies the teen was “passed out” during the assault.
The male is currently being held in the Skagit County Jail on an INVESTIGATIVE HOLD for Rape 2nd Degree. He is being held in Lieu of $25,000 bail.
