Firefighters from the Edison Fire Department responded to the scene and assisted the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office SAR Units with lowering the Injured Couple with ropes  down to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks below Chuckanut Drive.

A Burlington Northern Truck Crew was called in and transported the injured couple to the Taylor Shellfish Farm where they were met by Ambulance Crews.

The male reportedly suffered  a leg injury and the female suffered an arm injury in the fall, but their injuries were not considered life threatening.

The couple, who deputies described as being in their  mid 20’s was from out-of-state and were attempting to hike down to the water when they fell.
