Kittitas County, WA – The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by Seattle Mountain Rescue and Search and Rescue crews from Kittitas, Skagit, King, and Yakima County to look for missing 20-year old Kaylean Johnson of Union Gap.

According to a press memo from the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson was riding on the back of a 1974 Harley Davidson Motorcycle on a back country road with 61-year old Patrick Frawley of Yakima when they crashed over a 60-foot embankment on June 23rd, 2017 in the Little Naches National Forest area north of Highway 410, east of Chinook Pass.

Mr. Frawley told Detectives that after the wreck, he and Johnson walked until Dark, built a fire and spent the first night on a small landing. The next day, due to his health and slow pace, Johnson headed down the mountain alone to find help.   Frawley told Detectives that was the last time he saw her.  Frawley said it  took him two more days to work his way out of the woods, which he did on June 26th around 3:00 p.m.  He was transported by ambulance  to Yakima Memorial Hospital.  Deputies say he was disoriented and dehydrated and had non-life threatening injuries.

Kittitas County Officials said they have located the crashed motorcycle and a fire pit they believe to be the location the two spent the first night.

Kittitas County Undersheriff Clayton Myers stated, ” Our SAR Coordinators, Deputy Mike McKean and Deputy Dave Houseberg are pushing all of the resources they can into this search with approximately 50 ground, K-9, 4X4 and horse search teams from Kittitas, King, Skagit and Yakima County. Helicopters from the King County Sheriff’s Office and the Yakima Training Center joined the search with a rescue vehicle team from Kittitas County Fire District 7.  We will continue to expand the search and bring in outside agencies as we are very concerned with the length of time Ms. Johnson has been Missing.”‘

Kaylean Johnson  is described as being 4’11”, 190 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink tank top, shorts, and a Harley Davidson Jacket.  Her family says she is developmentally delayed.
