Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a three vehicle crash on the South Skagit Highway near Fox Creek Lane just after 10:30 p.m. on May 22nd, 2017.
According to press release from the Washington State Patrol, 22-year old Andrew Lind of Jordan, MN had his black 2007 GMC Pickup parked and unoccupied on Eastbound S. Skagit Highway near Fox Creek Lane.
Troopers say two motorcycles were traveling Eastbound on the South Skagit Highway and left the roadway to the right to avoid hitting the GMC truck. Both Motorcycles came to rest in the ditch.
The drivers of the motorcycles, 47-year old Kenneth Price of Sedro-Woolley was on a red 2001 Honda VRF800 motorcycle and 54-year old Michael Rieken of Stanwood, was on a Silver and Blue 2000 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Mr. Price was injured and transported to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. Mr. Rieken was injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A passenger on the Honda Motorcycle, 54-year old Jeanette Hopkins of Sedro-Woolley was injured and transported to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon. A passenger on the Harley Davidson, 55-year old Karina Hanke of Stanwood received minor injuries.
The pickup was not damaged and driven from the scene. Both Motorcycles were impounded for safe keeping by Carl’s Towing.
The press memo states drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident and the cause of the crash and possible charges are under investigation.
