Bellingham, WA– The Washington State Patrol has released a press memo with updated information regarding the Mothers Day Crash on State Route 542 in Whatcom County.

According to the latest release from the Washington State Patrol, 71-Year old Larry Fitzgerald of Maple Falls has  died from the injuries he received in the Mother’s Day Crash.  Mr. Fitzgerald had been in critical condition since firefighters used the jaws of life to extricate him from his vehicle after the crash.

Troopers said it was impossible to know if Mr. Fitzgerald suffered a medical problem before the crash due to his injuries. Toxicology Reports are still pending to see if Mr. Fitzgerald had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

Mr. Fitzgerald was said to be the causing driver of a three-vehicle crash around 10:30 a.m. on May 14th, 2014.

According to the original press memo from the Washington State Patrol,  71-Year old Larry Fitzgerald was traveling Eastbound on State Route 542, just East of Milepost 15 in a maroon 1994 Chevrolet Suburban 4-door when his vehicle crossed the centerline for an unknown reason and side swiped a Westbound 2012 Toyota Yaris, which caused the Yaris to rollover, where it came to rest on its’ roof on the Westbound Shoulder of the road. 24-year old Pamela Moyer of Bellingham was injured in the crash and transported to Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham.  Pamela’s 25-year old Husband Phillip Moyer of Ferndale and her 5-month old Daughter Penelope Moyer were in a vehicle following her. After the Suburban side swiped her vehicle, the Suburban crashed into her husbands vehicle, head-on. Both Phillip Moyer and 5-month old Penelope died at the scene.

A Go Fund Me Account has been set up by friends and co-workers of the Moyer Family. The fundraiser has raised over $49,728 dollars. The Fundraiser was set up  to help offset funeral and memorial costs for Pamela Moyer.  If you’d like to donate, please click here. https://www.gofundme.com/9upba-final-expenses
