Snohomish, WA – The Snohomish Police Department and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an assault that occurred in the City of Snohomish in the early morning hours of May 3rd.
A 22-year old woman, flagged down a passing vehicle to use the driver’s cell phone to call 9-1-1 around 3:20 a.m. in the 1900 block of Bickford Avenue, according to a release by Shari Ireton, Director of Communications for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman reported that as she was walking to work, a male unknown to her attacked her and pulled her down to the pavement. She told detectives that the man pulled off her pants and underwear and started to assault her as she fought back. The woman kicked the man in the face and was able to break free and run away. She told detectives that the man attempted to follow her until she lost him.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s or 30’s. He is believed to be 5’7″, average short hair, and has beard stubble. She said he was wearing a gray or tan plaid jacket, brown pants or jeans and was last seen on foot heading southbound on Bickford Avenue.
Police conducted an extensive search of the area by foot and K-9 units but were unable to locate the suspect.
