Delays Expected on SR20 over Deception Pass for Bridge Inspections

Skagit County, WA – If you are traveling over Deception Pass between Wednesday and Friday this week, expect delays.

Washington State Department of Transportation bridge inspection crews will close one lane from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19th through Friday, April 21st for bridge inspections.

DOT will have flaggers in place to alternate traffic through the work zone. If you are traveling between Whidbey Island and Skagit County during this time, give yourself extra travel time and expect some minor delays.

The bridge inspection crews need to work during daylight hours to complete these Federal Highway Administration required bridge inspections.   The work may get rescheduled if the winds in the area are too high.

Travelers can get real-time traffic information on their cell phones with the WSDOT traffic app, or by following WSDOT North on Twitter.
