Ferndale Man Dies After Walking In Front of Car on I-5

Bellingham, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a vehicle verses pedestrian fatal crash on Northbound I-5 near Bakerview Road just before 5 p.m. on April 8th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 85-Year old Rex Radcliff of Ferndale exited a parked vehicle on the right Shoulder of Northbound I-5 just North of Bakerview Road.

The press memo states Mr. Radcliff walked Westbound into Lane two of the freeway where he was struck by a silver 2003 Kia Optima being driven by 25-year old Kaisha Lorden of Bellingham.

Mr. Radcliff was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

The cause of the crash is listed as Pedestrian violation.
